About TL & Chris…

TL & Chris’s whirlwind career has taken them to over 119 cities in over 36 countries around the world..

Growing up in an RCMP family, TL spent her childhood years in many different places in Canada, but having spent most of her time in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia considers herself to be a Maritimer at heart. TL moved to Ottawa in 1989 and after studying her BA with Law major at Carleton University followed by studying Computer Science and Technology at Algonquin College, she discovered she had fallen in love with the city of Ottawa, and decided to make it her permanent home.

Chris grew up in London, Ontario working on the family farm and moved to Ottawa when he was 11 years old to work on his family’s new dairy farm.  He started teaching Ballroom and Latin dance at 19, and soon opened his very own successful dance studio which is where TL & Chris met, fell in love, and started dancing together.

TL & Chris soon began training with professional coaches, started teaching and performing, as well as trained for Ballroom and Latin Competitions. Within a very short period of time they were coaching and competing all over North America.  Eventually their career took them abroad where they received training in acting, singing, and dancing from many esteemed directors and choreographers from Montreal, Toronto, New York, Los Angeles and England.   This experience led to an exciting time traveling and performing all over the world as featured dancers on cruise ship main stages.

Their latest and current ventures have taken them to TV!   TL spent 5 years as co-host of a LIVE daily “lifestyles” talk show called Daytime Ottawa, and host of the Style File on Ottawa Living at Rogers TV Ottawa.   TL & Chris together were contributors for CBC’s Living in Ottawa and BOLD Network’s Creative Block.  They also produced and hosted Crystal Leaf Ballroom and Latin Dance Championships on Rogers TV Toronto.   This, together with teaching, performing, competing Pro-Am and TL emceeing Ballroom Competitions,  they bring their zest for life and their love of people happily into living rooms and dance floors all over Canada!

TL & Chris have been happily married for over 12 years, and can’t wait for many more to come!
